Aoife Ní Bhríain - 1st Violin
Aoife started learning the violin at a very young age under the guidance of Maria Kelemen in the Young European Strings School of Music. Making her solo debut at the age of 9 with the National Symphony Orchestra Aoife has gone on to perform with the National Concert Orchestra, the Ulster Orchestra, the RIAM Chamber Orchestra, the Korean Chamber Orchestra and she is currently the leader of the Clare Memory Orchestra. She has gone on to study with Prof Constantin Serban in Nantes, France, Ms. Maeve Broderick in Dublin and is currently studying classical violin with Prof. Mariana Sirbu in Leipzig Germany. She has won awards for both classical and traditional music including the “Young Musician of the Year 2010″ at the Clandeyboye festival run by Barry Douglas, “Bonn Ór Sean Uí Riada” in 2011, a number of All Ireland Fleadh titles and other classical awards. Aoife has recently collaborated with Grammy Award winning producer Judith Sherman, recording new compositions by Irish composer Dave Flynn and has released a CD of traditional music “Tunes from the Goodman Manuscripts” with Mick O Brien and Emer Mayock.
